Fearless adrenaline junkie Betty Bromage has wowed care staff by taking her fourth wing walk across the freezing skies of Gloucestershire to celebrate turning 90.
Held aloft on the wings of a plane hundreds of miles above Rendcomb Airfield near Cirencester, courtesy of Aerosuperbatics, wellwishers on terra firma watched as the daring nonagenarian completed her fourth wing walk on 9 April.
Mrs Bromage stood above the cockpit of the aircraft, which took her on a 15-minute wing walking flight.
Betty Bromage said: “The other residents think I’m a bit mad but they’re all incredibly supportive. They came to watch my wing walk last year and they have often got involved with fundraising too”.
Twenty years ago, the pensioner was wheelchair bound due to a back injury and underwent major surgery on her spine. Her motto now is to enjoy life to the full.
The super gran turned 90 in March and has decided to have a “Going for it” year.
She has planned hair-raising feats like a 100 mph ride on what claims to be Europe’s longest and the world’s fastest zip line at Penrhyn Slate Quarry in Wales. And she's planning an abseil in Manchester.
The go for it gran has already wing walked three times to raise money for Sue Ryder, Air Ambulance and the Cobalt Unit.
"While others at my age might prefer to take it easy, I just love the adrenaline rush of doing something extreme as a wing walk", she said.

Gloucestershire Abbeyfield Society is a charity that provides housing, support and care for older people including Betty Bromage.
The 90-year-old hopes her brave acts this year will raise £10,000 for a summer house and wheel-chair accessible garden at the Cheltenham house where she lives.
