Daredevil gran, aged 90, strikes again with bone-chilling 100mph zip ride

Adrenaline junkie Betty Bromage, aged 90, is at it again with another hair-raising feat - this time zooming down a 100 mph ride on what claims to be the world’s fastest zip line.

Not content with completing her fourth wing walk just weeks ago, strapped to the wing of a flying plane, the plucky nonagenarian was sent hurtling through the air along a zip line at Penrhyn Slate Quarry in Wales.

Seconds before her eye-popping descent, zip line staff asked her "Does that feel okay?", to which she replied “Yes, it’s fine”, as she stared excitedly out over the quarry.

Ms Bromage's 90-year-old body was positioned horizontally and strapped into a harness suspended from the zipwire cable.

While she cannot walk unaided, the fearless pensioner soon soared across the sky over Penrhyn Quarry at Zip World Velocity 2.

Seconds after her epic descent, the daredevil gran admitted: “That was brilliant. Really great.”

The Abbeyfield Society is a charity that provides housing, support and care for older people including Betty Bromage.

Referring to her latest adventure, the Abbeyfield Society tweeted: “Once again, she proves you really are never too old to do some amazing things.”

Ms Bromage hopes her brave acts this year will raise £10,000 for a summer house and wheel-chair accessible garden at the Cheltenham house where she lives.
