South Bebside Care Home in Blyth has been rated “good” by the health watchdog.
Residents living at the home described staff as “exceptional” and said they felt safe in their care.
Staff were “extremely attentive to people’s needs”, and always treated residents with dignity and respect, according to the report from the Care Quality Commission.
The care home team went out of their way to help residents to reconnect with relatives they had lost touch with, the report said. This included making extensive enquiries to trace people in the UK and abroad, making contact and arranging for a surprise visit or phone call.
One relative told inspectors: “The staff are exceptional. They are there to help, they will go to town to do that.”
The watchdog also reported that the care home was consistently well led by a manager who promoted “high-quality, person-centred care”.
One relative said: "Even on her day off she still comes in."
Jacky Reed, regional managing director for Four Seasons Health Care, said:
“I am very proud of the team at South Bebside for the high-quality care they are providing. Residents feel safe and happy, which is a testament to the fantastic work of the team and care home manager.”
