Social care may have been forgotten by the government, but at this year’s Care Show, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of social care, listen to key thought leaders and get the chance to speak to the leading care suppliers.
The event being held at Birmingham NEC on 9 and 10 October promises to inspire as well as inform, with the seminar programme now a full blown CPD accredited conference.
Michael Corbett, group show manager said: “I have watched this vibrant event grow and grow over recent years. We are now pulling out all the stops to showcase the biggest edition of The Care Show. Whether you want to raise your organisation's awareness or meet senior decision-makers to network with, this year's Care Show will not disappoint.”
The Care Show will feature a thought-provoking discussion on the future of commissioning care as well as an update on current funding trends. Nadra Ahmed, executive chairman of the National Care Association will be opening the Care Show on both days and the think tank doteveryone will be showcasing their report on better care systems in the age of automation.
Lawyer Tim Spencer Lane will be shedding light on the new liberty protection safeguard and what it means for care homes and there will be a panel debate on the future of home care which will include Niall Dickson, chief executive of NHS Confederation.
In addition, the UKHCA Annual Conference will be hosted at The Care Show. For those interested in artificial intelligence, there will be a debate on the role of robotics in care. The discussion will explore the emerging roles for robotics, and where they are proving effective. Are they being developed to raise quality, liberate staff, or to cut costs? What are the ethical, legal, and regulatory issues involved?
Bogdan Mihalache, The Care Show’s senior marketing manager said: “I believe we really put our hearts and souls into this year's edition to make sure we're bringing together key thought leaders and create a comprehensive programme for two days of free content, giving our visitors the tools and information they need to protect the future of their organisation.”
