Dawson Lodge Care home residents fill hampers for local families

Residents from a Southampton care home have been collecting goods to make hampers to be given out to local families through the Sure Start Children’s Centre in Southampton.

Dawson Lodge The residents from Anchor’s Dawson Lodge care home in Botley Road wanted to brighten up the Christmas of local families by handing out hampers full of presents and wholesome food, as part of the Anchor ‘Acts of Kindness’ Christmas campaign.

Others from the home have made and signed greetings cards to accompany the hampers.

Dawson Lodge Manager, Mitchelle Perry, said: “Residents and staff were really keen to offer as much support as possible for what we all felt was an important cause.

“I’ve been very impressed by the generous donations from everyone. We feel sure that our efforts will make a difference so I would like to thank everyone for their support. We hope these hampers will brighten up the Christmas for those that receive them.”
