Prestbury House Care Home is extremely pleased to announce that following a recent CQC inspection, the home now has an overall rating of ‘good’.
Staff at the home were observed by inspectors over a number of days as they carried out their daily duties and as they interacted with residents, families and colleagues.
Good care is the primary focus for the home and inspectors noted that residents were supported by “kind and caring staff who treated people as individuals and with dignity and respect.” The report went on to say that residents “received care and support which was personalised and responsive to their needs” and that residents were "supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives” with staff supporting these choices in the least restrictive way possible.
Further comments from the regulator’s report mentioned how the home’s management promoted a “person-centred service. There was an open and transparent culture and good partnerships working with others.” Comments from those who spoke to inspectors said the home possessed a ‘calm, positive and peaceful’ atmosphere.
Home manager Lynne Hudson has been at the helm since late 2019 and has been the catalyst for many positive changes in that time. She commented: “We are delighted by our new rating and the comments made by the CQC. We strongly believe in good care and fostering an environment that is compassionate, responsive and above all, enhances the wellbeing of our residents and the report reflects these efforts.”
