Unable to leave their care home, due to the coronavirus outbreak, residents at Westhill Park care home have been showing off their dance skills online - with their most popular TikTok video featuring a dance routine to ‘Funkytown’.

Lifestyle manager Hannah Kinloch, who recorded residents having fun after care workers taught them some moves, said the activity had collectively boosted residents and staff.

“The residents have absolutely loved making these videos to share with their family and friends and the local community”.

The TikTok application allows the public to share videos of themselves dancing, lip-syncing etc. All families of residents taking part have signed a disclaimer form about the Kettering-based care home’s social media use.

Ms Kinloch, who has made TikTok a regular activity for residents said: “It’s a great way to keep them active and entertained and hopefully put a smile on everyone’s face during this difficult time.”
