It was hats, horses and champagne at Nynehead Court this week, as the staff and residents celebrated Royal Ascot.
The fun began with the residents making their own hats and fascinators to wear, ready for the races later in the day. Everyone enjoyed champagne and strawberries in the sunshine, and had the chance to see if they could pick the winning horse in their own horse-racing game.
Pat Aldridge selected the winner, and was presented with a trophy to celebrate her victory. Staff joined in the fun, riding their own costume horses and racing them around the grounds to the delight of the residents. Joanne Fenn, manager of Nynehead Court, said: “Everyone has had such fantastic fun today, it was just what was needed in these difficult times.
"We have lots more activities planned for our residents in the coming months, so that we can make the most of the summer in our wonderful grounds.”
