Green Gates Bupa Care Home in Oxford has received a ‘Good’ overall rating by the Care and Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced inspection.
Staff were commended for providing safe and effective care, whilst also praised for being well-led. Residents and relatives were positive about the service and complimentary about staff at the home.
Speaking of the level of care received, one resident said: "They [staff] are good at explaining things to me, it is reassuring." Another commented: "I would recommend this home to all my friends."
The report found that the residents had a good knowledge of their personal safety measures, including the home’s safeguarding policy, and staff had a professional attitude towards resident safety regarding their medicine and personal fitness needs.
The inspectors also reported that the staff had good, personal relationships with each of the residents, providing individualised care where needed. The resident’s input on their own care was also commended, with the staff providing regular consultations and feedback.
The range of activities available to the residents was also celebrated, highlighting the range of options including musical events and pampering sessions.
Home manager, Christopher Stimpson, said: “We’re incredibly happy with the result of the inspection. We’ve worked hard week in week out to improve the lives of our residents here and it’s good to see that effort recognised. I’m very proud of the team.”
Green Gates Bupa Care Home welcomes anyone in need of nursing or residential care. Residents are offered a full programme of regular and seasonal activities, as well as 24-hour access to highly trained medical and care staff.
