A luxury 78-bed care home in Congleton with its own authentic gastropub, farmers' market and cinema, is set to open its doors in early June.
Priesty Fields, a purpose-built residential care home, close to the market town centre, will offer residents a stimulating environment where they can maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.
Along with its gastropub, farmers' market, cinema, the home will include 78 spacious en-suite bedrooms, spa, salon, gym, library, private dining room, garden lounge, and GP office.
Priesty Fields will become the ninth home of the Handsale care group, which runs eight residential and nursing care homes across England, Scotland and Wales.
Rishi Sodha, care director at Handsale, said: “We’re delighted to announce Priesty Fields will be opening its doors in early June, offering an outstanding environment that enables staff to provide outstanding care. Priesty Fields will be a place where people, no matter their age, can maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives amidst a backdrop of innovative and comforting surroundings.”
The new home’s holistic approach will take into account peoples’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. The design is closely connected to nature with its ‘living walls’ and natural wood, stone and glass features, all to help to enhance mental wellbeing, while its interior design is designed to provide an authentic and homely atmosphere.
"The building is being carefully designed to incorporate our care philosophy at Handsale - empowering staff, so they can offer the highest quality of person-centred care," says Ms Sodha.
"Since development started in 2019, we’ve hit a few bumps in the road, having been impacted by both Brexit and COVID-19, so we’re pleased that our vision to offer an authentic, engaging environment is back on track and nearing completion.
“Now we have a set timeline in place, we can start working on the exciting final phases of the development, which will incorporate the heritage of Congleton.”
The physical structure of the building will be tailored to suit the specific needs of people requiring continuous care, with communal areas which will encourage independence and stimulate the senses. All these requirements have been included in the design.
The home will also be sustainable, being built with a heat recovery system and environmentally friendly lighting for low energy consumption.
A new website is currently being set-up for Priesty Fields, but anyone wishing to find out more information can visit Handsale’s website at https://handsale.co.uk/.
