Sheffield City Council approved the joint application by Charterpoint Senior Living and Cinnamon Luxury Care for the four-storey, 80-bed care development off Twentywell Lane in Bradway.

Featuring individual bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, private dining, a café, hair and beauty salon, and a cinema, along with dedicated lounge and dining areas on each floor, the scheme will provide first-class residential facilities for the local community.

Ben Collard, of Cinnamon, said: “We are delighted to have received planning consent and to now complete on the purchase of the site with Charterpoint. It’s been a pleasure to work with the Charterpoint team and we hope to be able to work together on similar schemes in the future.

“Cinnamon are very much looking forward to building a first-class care home, in a stunning setting, that we are sure will become an integral part of the community for many years to come.”

Extensive terraces and a dementia garden have been incorporated into the development site, which is in a Sheffield suburb to the south of the city.

Charterpoint, which is based at Edwalton near Nottingham, specialises in developing senior living accommodation, sustainable housing schemes, and primary care premises.

Director at Charterpoint, Giles Nursey said: “Charterpoint Senior Living specialises in delivering exceptional, purpose-built senior living accommodation and we identified this site as a location with significant under-provision of care home accommodation. We worked in partnership with Cinnamon Luxury Care throughout the planning process to design a bespoke care home, which will offer the very best facilities to residents in the Bradway and south Sheffield areas.

“We are pleased that members of the planning committee supported the recommendation of council officers to approve this scheme and are delighted to have now completed a deal with Cinnamon which will lead to the delivery of a super new care home that will provide modern care accommodation for the community.”

Cinnamon Luxury Care provides nursing, residential, dementia, respite and day care at care homes across the country via the Cinnamon Care Collection. It also operates a number of Cinnamon Care Collection retirement villages. This will be the company’s first home in Yorkshire.
