The aim of the Nurses Day Celebration was to raise awareness of the important role that nurses play in society and at the same time, to increase their confidence and give them a big appreciation for their contribution towards the home during this pandemic.
The Nurses Day Celebration started around 3pm on 27th April as per the previous plan. An invitation letter was given prior to one week of the celebration to all the HOU including nursing, maintenance, reception, accounts, housekeeping and activity team and each nurse and Care Practioner. The Nurses Day programme started with a welcome speech which was given by our Clinical Lead Bogdan. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of the role of nurses, the history of nursing, why the day is selected on the 12th May and what the theme of this year for Nurses Day was. Followed by which our General Manager Raji started the lamp lighting ceremony and the light of the lamp was passed over to all nurses by Bogdan and senior nurse Saleema from Raji. Raji led the Nurses Pledge which all the nurses, HOU of nursing and Care Practitioners repeated while holding the lighting lamp in their hand. The Best Nurse Award was announced by Raji, the best nurse was selected by voting and won by Nita. Thankful words were given by Bogdan and Terrence (as a representative of residents). Refreshment was arranged by the reception around 5pm the programme ended.
The programme included everything which was a tribute to the nursing team for their great support towards the Home.
