Whether it’s singing, dancing, comedy or magic, Care Sector’s Got Talent auditions have been launched to seek out the talents of care workers nationwide.
Individual care workers and care teams across the country are invited to audition for Care Sector’s Got Talent, a new contest launched by voluntary group Championing Social Care.
Care workers have until 19 September to submit videos to a judging panel and those who make it through to the next stage will be invited to face the judges.
The winning act will perform virtually at this year’s Care Show at the NEC, Birmingham which takes place 13-14 October. The live-streamed event will be watched by care teams, care clients and their families.
Many care workers' talents may be hidden but others came to light during the pandemic as staff performed in care homes when entertainers could not enter due to Covid restrictions.
Organiser Championing Social Care stated: 'Care Sector’s Got Talent is a fantastic virtual event to showcase the amazing talents of the social care sector. Whether it is singing, dancing, comedy, magic or music, we want to celebrate our sector in this national talent extravaganza.
"It would be hard not to recognise how, since the global pandemic took hold, the restrictions in visiting care homes has impacted those living and working in the care sector.
"Without families to visit and the ability to bring entertainers and outside agencies in, life could have felt isolated… but what we have seen has been simply wonderful."
You can enter the contest by submitting a video of your talent which can be recorded on your phone via the Championing Social Care website or by emailing championingsocialcare@caretechfoundation.org.uk.
