Leeds care home crowned one of top 20 care homes in Yorkshire & The Humber

Elmwood Bupa Care Home in Leeds has been named among the top 20 recommended care homes in Yorkshire & The Humber – after receiving a perfect 10/10 rating in its reviews.

The award has been given by carehome.co.uk, the leading UK online directory for care homes. The company notes that there are nearly 1,500 homes in the region, and they have crowned just 20 of those with awards for their top-scoring facilities and services.

The awards are based on the care home’s recommendations from their residents, as well as their friends and relatives. Elmwood Bupa Care Home has a 10/10 score on carehome.co.uk ranking it amongst the very best in Yorkshire & The Humber, based on public feedback.

Staff at the home regularly go the extra mile for residents. They arranged a Zoom call with Kevin “Sir Kev” Sinfield OBE – former Leeds Rhinos rugby player and coach – for a lifelong rugby fan.

Elsewhere, when it snowed, the team brought snow into the dining room so that residents could enjoy it whilst staying safe and warm, whilst building a snowman together.

In addition to ad hoc activities, the home hosts regular pet therapy sessions and physio classes. Staff also put on food and drink tasting sessions – from cheese and wine, through to world food and chocolates.

It’s not just friends and family that rate the services at Elmwood, but the Care Quality Commission (CQC) too. In the care home’s latest CQC Report, a ‘Good’ rating was awarded, with inspectors praising their well-trained, ‘kind and compassionate’ staff.
