As a nation, we are united in supporting Ukraine and the current atrocities the country is facing. We have wanted to do our part to help anyone who has been affected by the conflict, so we have arranged collections across the Excelcare family.
After putting out a request for donations on their social media and getting in touch with families and local communities, Goldenley Care Home in Essex received a large volume of donations to help the people of Ukraine. The donated items ranged greatly, and they received clothing, nappies, toys, blankets and more!
Team members Faith and Katie took charge when it came to delivering the items to the collection point. There was a lot to transport, but Katie’s dad kindly leant them his 8-seater taxi so they could deliver their collection to Magzone Rayleigh.
While dropping off the items, Katie and Faith spoke to the volunteers, who said that they had been working 16 hour shifts to ensure that the donations got sent to Moldova. They are doing an absolutely fantastic job, and their hard work will surely make so much difference.
The people at Goldenley are so proud of how their family banded together to gather the collection. They hope that the donations will provide at least a little bit of comfort to the people that are suffering and losing their homes.
