Hearing Support in Care Homes

Not being able to hear properly can result in people feeling isolated and even depressed. For residents living at Barchester Healthcare's Hagley Place in Ludlow they have been supported by Easier hearing company recently.

Kate from Easier Hearing told us more, "I am very proud to let all you social media people know that I was invited into Hagley Place a few weeks ago, checked the ears of all the residents (for free - it’s a thing I do!). And by agreement of the management, relatives and residents, we have been preparing that ear wax and I shall be going in on Monday and hoping to make a big difference for these residents who are unable to get to a clinic for assessment or treatment. I am really pleased, as ear wax build up can cause hearing problems, which in turn affects communication and how a person interacts in their world.

"If any of your relatives are in care or nursing homes, and you think they would benefit, speak to the staff-I am used to visiting and am aware of and respectful of the safeguards in place to protect everyone. I am happy to arrange to visit."
