Top care home reviews site now lets residents and family leave reviews via social media

The UK’s top care home reviews site, carehome.co.uk, has launched a new service enabling care homes via facebook, twitter and Whatsapp to ask residents, family and friends to leave reviews of the home.

There are currently over 230,000 reviews of care homes on carehome.co.uk, boosting transparency and giving people looking for a care home, a valuable insight into what a care home is really like from the viewpoint of the residents and their family and friends.

Up till now carehome.co.uk’s Invite to Review feature meant care homes could email links to people encouraging them to leave a review.

But now, care homes can create an invitation for people to review their services on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp.

Hollie Brown, product manager at carehome.co.uk, said: “From feedback, we knew care home staff were frequently copying the links to their review forms.

"We wanted to make this process more streamlined by providing them with a range of new methods to invite reviews from residents, family and friends.

“Our aim is to give people as much choice as possible when inviting them to review a care home, which is why we’ve released these new ways of doing it through social media.

“We hope this will encourage more people to leave reviews of care homes so we can help make people’s search to find the right care home easier.”

Each care home review is checked for authenticity by carehome.co.uk’s dedicated reviews team, to ensure people are seeing genuine feedback from people who have used the care home.

As well as written feedback, reviewers can rate care homes on a variety of factors, from their management to residents being treated with dignity as well as value for money.

The amalgamation of these ratings creates an average review score for each care home, with the highest-scoring care homes winning awards each year.

Care homes wanting to create an invitation for people to review their services on Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp need to log onto their carehome.co.uk control panel inviting residents, friends and family members to review them.
