Brew for Two, launched by Royal Star & Garter which operates care homes in Solihull, Surbiton and High Wycombe, is encouraging people to invite a friend or neighbour for a cuppa and buy its Brew for Two pack for £5.

Members of the public can order the pack containing two teabags, an invitation card and a stamped envelope, ‘to make it easier for people to organise a get together’.

Money raised from each pack will go towards helping Royal Star & Garter ‘continue providing’ high quality support to its three care homes.

Sophie Fanning-Tichbourne, Royal Star & Garter’s partnerships manager, said: “We know that community and support networks are so important for our wellbeing and over the past two years we have not been socialising as much as we used to.

“Now is the perfect time to invite a friend, family member or neighbour to join you for a cup of tea over a catch-up, while supporting the veterans in our care.”

The Royal Star & Garter charity was founded in 1916 to care for severely injured men returning from the frontline of World War One.

The charity today provides nursing, dementia and therapeutic care to ex-servicemen from the armed forces and their partners and provides more than a third of the dementia care beds offered to ex-service people in England.

Once a Brew for Two pack has been received, recipients are being encouraged to post photos of their catch-up on social media using the hashtag #BrewForTwo.

Ms Fanning-Tichbourne added: “We want to help you celebrate small moments of connection and joy with someone you haven’t seen enough of with Brew for Two.”
