Bowling

We have taken part in so many fun activities over the summer months and they have all been a lot of fun, however, my favourite has been our trip to the local ten-pin bowling centre.

There is something about the sights and the sounds of the bowling alley that invokes so many wonderful memories. The hum of the ball as it rolls towards its goal and the ensuing clatter as the pins are sent flying into the air.

With the beeps and the bells that emanate from the fruit machines and video games, the voices of children, laughing with their opponents, the place feels alive.

None of us had been bowling for quite some time but we soon got back into the swing of it and found our rhythm. We got quite competitive by the end of the afternoon, and we all wanted to win.

We actually turned out to be quite good at bowling, some of us with the help of the frames provided. We enjoyed a really good laugh; we enjoyed a cold pint and some naughty snacks.

I’d forgotten how much fun bowling is, but we will definitely be going back just as soon as we can.
