Shongololo visit

We have had another fantastic visit from Creature Feature.

Stephan and Nicola brought Marbles the rabbit, Donny the tortoise and George the guinea pig for residents on all units to see, hold and touch.

However, the main attraction was a Shongololo, which is the African name for a Giant African Millipede.

It didn’t have a name because the millipede has no ears. There were lots and lots of legs, working away as the millipede looked for food and we tried to feed it a fresh leaf from a Carnation but apparently, Shongololos prefer decaying leaves. We all enjoyed having a new experience and one resident commented, that it was nothing like the animals he had on his farm.
