St Mary’s Bupa Care Home has recently celebrated a beloved member of staff and Luton resident, Jackie Ann Crawley, as she has reached 25 years of loyal service.

To honour the incredible achievement and to say a big thank you to Jackie, the residents and staff of St Mary’s came together along with the Tennyson Road Primary School Choir for a celebration cake and a cup of tea!

Originally from St Albans, Jackie first started at St Mary’s as a Housekeeper when she was 43 years old and soon progressed to playing an instrumental role in the Activities team.

Now as lead Activities Co-Ordinator Jackie enjoys getting to know the residents personally and supporting them with their wellbeing.

Reflecting on her career and time at St Mary’s, Jackie commented: “I can’t believe I’ve worked at Bupa for 25 years! It’s been a wonderful time and I’ve made so many special memories. I am beyond grateful to everyone – from the brilliant residents to our fantastic care home team – for making each day a positive one.”

When asked what her fondest memories at St Mary’s have been, Jackie commented: “I have really enjoyed times when we have brought local primary schools from our community into the care home. Seeing children interact with residents is so wonderful and proves how beneficial inter-generational relationships are for all involved.”

Outside of work, Jackie enjoys her home comforts, spending time gardening, walking her dog, Angel and baking sweet treats.

St Mary’s Clinical Deputy Manager, Sandra Miranda, commented: “Jackie is a huge asset to the St Mary’s community. Her kindness, work ethic and commitment to our residents epitomise what the Bupa family is all about and we couldn’t be prouder of her for reaching 25 years of service. We are thrilled that we’ve been able to spoil her and show her how much she means to us all!”

Over her long career with Bupa, Jackie has continued to go above and beyond for residents and fellow members of staff, and she plans to continue to deliver the best care possible for the residents moving forward.

St Mary’s Bupa Care Home is situated in Luton and welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care, including those living with Dementia and Parkinson’s. For further information, please visit https://www.bupa.co.uk/care-services
