The Mayor of Salisbury, Councillor Tom Corbin formally opened the Milford House Care Home Art Exhibition featuring the local group Phoenix Artists; Mel Cane, Mary Gilson and Liz Hoppe who all work from a riverside studio in nearby Laverstock.
The artists are all members of Plain Arts Salisbury and this exhibition builds on the success of the home as a venue as part of the Salisbury Art Trail in autumn 2022.
All the works on display are available for sale and feature the themes of landscapes, flowers animals and more.
After the opening, the mayor commented: "Art is a particular passion of mine and it has been wonderful to see the works on display and in such a special setting.
"I have loved talking to the residents about the art they enjoy having on their walls and the artists who are delighted to have such a great venue for their exhibition. Well done to everyone for this innovative collaboration."
Gemma Hicks, General Manager at Milford House said: "It was a very well-attended event with not only our own residents and their friends and family present but also members of the local community many of whom left with newly purchased works of art tucked under their arms!
"We had lots of great comments about Milford House hosting this event and it has been wonderful to not only showcase the works by the artists but also the artwork of our own residents."
The exhibition is open to view on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 11am – 4pm or by appointment until the 22nd of February.
