Therapy pat dog visits

Residents were treated to a visit from Lottie, our regular therapy pat dog.

Lottie always creates a great deal of excitement when visiting the home and is always a firm favourite on the activity list. Therapy pat dogs have such a calming effect and the residents love to stroke her.

Emma, owner and trainer says: “Lottie and I both love our fortnightly visits to Reigate Beaumont care home. Lottie jumps from the car ready to go and to greet the residents. We love to see the delight on residents’ faces when we head into their rooms or the living room for a chat.

“Lottie is in her element when she gets lots of strokes, tummy tickles and the odd biscuit treat! There is something about dogs that soothes and also unlocks – it eases anxiety and helps us to feel more relaxed and content. To share Lottie for this purpose is a privilege.”
