Our residents from farming backgrounds had expressed a wish to visit a local farm in springtime so staff at the home made their wishes a reality.
Angela Cox has lived at Threshfield court for nearly 2 years and Jean Herd has lived at Threshfield for 5 years there and are both beloved by staff and residents alike.
Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making their dream come true. With the help of the farm owners, Dan White and Emma Boocock they made a very memorable day for the residents, meeting all the lovely farm animals and then finished off with tea and cake in the boot room at the farm house.
Staff at the home also invited Jean’s daughter to join us on the trip. Whilst at the farm our residents were amazed with the cleanliness and organised production. When Anglea met Dan and they started talking about farming life, all of Anglea’s amazing memories came rushing back and she was ecstatic to talk how farming has changed since she was a little girl”. Derek Smith said “the amount of knowledge Dan has about farming is amazing.” Followed by Mavis Pelc saying “Dan and Emma are amazing thankyou for inviting us”.
Stacey Nicholson the General Manager at the home, said: “We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Threshfield. It was an amazing trip out, so many memories shared for everyone. A huge thankyou to Dan and Emma for your time out of your busy schedule and hospitality. Well done Claire”.
