Rothsay Grange takes part in Nutrition & Hydration Week

Residents, supported by staff members at Rothsay Grange, will be rising to the challenge of Nutrition & Hydration Week by holding a number of different events during the week that highlight the importance of good nutrition and hydration and how we can all improve our health and well-being by following some simple steps to incorporate good practice into our daily routines.

While keeping busy with fruit and tea tasting, baking sessions and more, residents have been learning some interesting facts and ideas to help keep in themselves in tip top nutritional and hydrational state! While these events are all fun they have a serious purpose in helping to highlight to everyone; residents, staff and families alike how crucial these aspects of care are for overall well-being and health, and how there are simple things that we can all do to support residents in this area and encourage them to understand and be aware of how important nutrition and hydration are.

General Manager Gemma Hicks commented, "Our chefs, supported by care staff and in house teams as well as visiting professionals, work to ensure that all our residents, whatever their individual nutritional and dietary requirements or personal likes or dislikes, have a daily choice of delicious, nourishing and well presented food. Nutrition and Hydration Week is a great reminder to us all of how important this aspect of care is, and to spread the word to everyone about the beneficial impact of good nutrition and hydration, particularly as we seem to be having more heat waves and warmer weather generally when lack of hydration can be a real issue - so a timely reminder for us all ahead of summer!"
