Meadowhill Care Home, in Borehamwood, is delighted to announce its collaboration with Parkside Primary School to raise funds for the much-needed renovation of the school’s playground. This initiative underscores the care home’s commitment to fostering strong community ties and invest-ing in the well-being of local families.
The playground renovation project aims to transform the existing space into a safe, modern, and engaging area for children to learn, play, and grow. Current equipment and facilities at Parkside Primary have become outdated and in need of repair, making this project a top priority for the school and its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
“We are thrilled to be part of such an important initiative that will directly benefit the children of Parkside Primary School,” said Alexandra Ellwood, Commissioning Manager of Meadowhill Care Home. “By working together, we aim to create a space where kids can play safely, develop essen-tial social skills, and build lasting memories. This collaboration will also provide our residents with meaningful opportunities to connect with the community, fostering a sense of purpose and be-longing. By participating in shared activities with children and families, it creates a unique chance to bridge generational gaps, exchange stories and wisdom, and cultivate relationships that enrich the lives of both young and old alike.”
The school has set a fundraising target of nearly £30,000 to cover the costs of new equipment, saf-er surfacing, and upgraded landscaping to ensure the playground meets modern safety standards.
“The support from Meadowhill Care Home means the world to us,” said Charles Soyka, Headteacher of Parkside Primary School. “Their support extends far beyond fundraising—it high-lights the true essence of community spirit. It’s incredibly inspiring to witness the desire for young-er and older generations to come together for such a meaningful cause.”
Meadowhill Care Home and Parkside Primary School invite everyone in the community to join in the fundraising efforts and make a difference in the lives of local children.
