Fabulous fashion featured at Milford House Care Home in Salisbury as residents, family, friends and staff members enjoyed a 'Winter Wonderland' themed Fashion Show. With outfits modelled by staff members including General Manager Aga Musial there were a range of of vintage fashions on show from the 50s, 60s. 70s and 80s, with expert runway commentary provided by Di Hampstead of Vintage Shuffle and Alice Madicott from The Salisbury Museum.
The audience took their places alongside the red carpet catwalks in the home's Dining Room and Conservatory, which were both packed, and many got into the spirit of the afternoon by donning some great hats, scarves and accessories of their own as they perused the special show programmes while waiting for the proceedings to begin. With ball gowns, polka dots, underskirts, sequins and plenty of fab accessories, including a crowd pleasing Christmas bauble bag, each ensemble was enthusiastically greeted by the audience.
General Manager Aga Musial commented 'This was such a great way to spend an afternoon and indulge ourselves in a bit of glamour and fun and it was wonderful to see our audience so involved in the afternoon and discussing all the great fashions. It was also a fantastic Milford team effort from our activity, housekeeping, kitchen, and care teams to make the whole event come together and a special word of thanks must go to our volunteers, comperes and everyone who lent us their expertise and outfits!'
As one resident said ' The fashions brought back so many memories and I loved all the details. We were asked at the end of the afternoon which was our favourite outfit, but I honestly couldn't say as each one had something special about it!'
