Love and Laughter Fill Brewster House on Valentine’s Day

Brewster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, embraced the spirit of love this Valentine’s Day with a special lunch that brought residents and their loved ones together for a heartwarming celebration.

On 14th February 2025, the care home welcomed residents’ partners to share a meal, enjoy a glass of prosecco, and celebrate the love they hold so dearly. The event was designed to bring a sense of normality to couples, allowing them to enjoy a moment together just as they would outside the home.

Amy, Lifestyle Coordinator at Brewster House, highlighted the importance of the event, saying: "It was a fun Valentine’s Day, inviting partners in to celebrate and have something normal that they would have if they were not in our home."

The event, which was the result of a team effort, stemmed from a staff meeting brainstorming ways to make the day special for residents and their families. The initiative ensured that no one felt forgotten, reinforcing that love and family bonds remain strong, even when one partner requires extra care.

The atmosphere was joyful and uplifting, with smiles all around. Pamela, a family member who attended, expressed her appreciation: "It was absolutely wonderful to be able to do this for us—everyone has enjoyed themselves."
