Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed the sale of Chestnut Court care home in New Milton, Hampshire.
Chestnut Court is a residential care home specialising in providing dementia care. It is registered for up to 25 residents and has a dedicated manager and a full and part-time complement of staff.
The home occupies a 24-bedroom property with planning permission for an additional four bedrooms. It is located close to New Milton town centre on a quiet residential road set in its own plot with mature and private gardens.
It was previously owned by Beritaz Care for 27 years, and was brought to market as part of a strategic disposal.
Following a confidential sales process with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, the business has been sold to WCN Care which owns and operates Stour Road Care Home in Christchurch and St Anne’s Care Home in Southbourne, as well as the domiciliary side of the business, WCN Care at Home.
Mr Kumar Gnanakumar, CEO at Beritaz Care, comments, “A strategic company decision was made to sell Chestnut Court, and we are very pleased to be handing the business over to the safe and competent hands of WCN Care. We are confident that the home, residents and staff will flourish under their ownership, and we wish them all the best with their new business.”
Dr Toby Williams, Managing Director at WCN Care Group, comments, “Chestnut Court is an ideal acquisition for us in terms of size, location, and ethos, and we look forward to being able to provide excellent care to people in Hampshire, as well as Dorset. As soon as we visited the home there was a connection and we felt there were great synergies with our other two homes. We are delighted and look forward to working closely with the staff and residents' families to enrich the lives of current and future residents.”
Charles Phillips, Director - Healthcare at Christie & Co, comments, “This is the third home we have sold to WCN Care Group, and it has been a pleasure to assist both Kumar with the sale of the business and Toby with the purchase. We were instructed to carry out a confidential marketing campaign for this business and were very pleased with the high level of interest and multiple offers received. This sale demonstrates the high demand for good quality care homes throughout the South. We wish both Kumar and Toby all the best with their plans.”
Chestnut Court was sold for an undisclosed price.
