Scales & Tails Brings Fascinating Animals to Chelmunds’ Court

On the 12th of March, Chelmunds’ Court hosted an exciting and educational event, welcoming Scales & Tails, who brought a variety of reptiles and furry friends for residents and staff to interact with. The afternoon featured snakes, scorpions, frogs, rabbits, bearded dragons, geckos, and more, offering a hands-on experience that sparked curiosity and engagement among all who attended.

Linda, from Chelmunds’ Court, shared her excitement: "Seeing the various animals up close was amazing. It was exciting to see everyone get together and learn about the different textures and behaviours of the animals."

The event was a huge success, giving residents a chance to explore their curiosity, face their fears, and engage in meaningful conversations. Staff and residents connected with the animals, learning about their diets, habitats, and behaviours. The hands-on interactions not only promoted learning but also helped boost confidence, especially for those overcoming a fear of reptiles.

The idea for the event came from the owner of Scales & Tails, who is also a care team leader at Chelmunds’ Court. With a passion for animals and a desire to bring unique experiences to the residents, she founded Scales & Tails to offer engaging, educational opportunities. This event perfectly blended education, community support, and the joy of learning.

The atmosphere was lively and filled with excitement, with moments of bravery as some residents stepped out of their comfort zones to interact with the animals.
