Castleford care home celebrate Red Nose Day with surprise shark

HC-One's Newfield Lodge Care Home turned into a sea of red and laughter as residents and colleagues came together to celebrate Red Nose Day in style.

The care home in Castleford pulled out all the stops, raising an impressive £56 in just one hour through a delightful bun sale, with all proceeds going to the beloved charity.

Colleagues showed their support by donning vibrant red attire and quirky odd socks, not only for Red Nose Day but also to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day.

The spirit was contagious, with residents and colleagues joining forces to create a hilarious TikTok video. An inflatable shark sporting a giant red nose, grooving its way through the home captured every resident’s attention.

Residents could not contain their giggles as the comical shark danced onto each unit, inviting everyone to join in the fun. From shimmying with the shark to savouring tasty buns, the event was enjoyed by both residents and colleagues.
