Marie Evan, Wellbeing Co-ordinator at Parklands Care Home, was eager to strengthen connections with the local community. She reached out to Bedwas Workmen’s Hall, a stunning local venue that had recently installed a wheelchair-accessible lift, making its Auditorium more inclusive than ever.

Seeing the opportunity, Marie arranged for Parklands residents to visit the hall, where they were warmly welcomed with tea, biscuits, and a wonderful sing-along session. Marie even took the stage to sing, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere. Residents from HC-One's Church View and Quarry Hall Care Home were also invited, making it a truly special gathering.

Laughter, music, and even a bit of dancing filled the hall as residents and community members came together in celebration. The event was such a success that everyone is already looking forward to the next visit!

Frederika Kate Stallard, Wellbeing Co-ordinator at Quarry Hall, shared: "What a beautiful opportunity for our residents and the community to come together! One hour just wasn’t long enough... we could have stayed for hours!"

This wonderful event highlights the power of community and the importance of inclusivity, ensuring that everyone, regardless of mobility, can take part in meaningful experiences.
