Residents celebrated St Patrick’s Day in a variety of ways. The home was decorated with green, white and orange to match the Irish flag, and there was home made bunting too. The residents have been painting Celtic knots and St Patrick’s Day posters which are also proudly displayed on the wall.
Chef, Lynn, made some delicious Irish stew for lunch, with Irish Cream cheesecake and Baileys Chocolate pot for dessert. For afternoon tea there was coffee and Irish cream cupcakes, and there was Irish Whisky Baileys for everyone to drink. We raised our glasses and toasted with the Gaelic word for health, which is slainte. We watched some of the Dublin St Patrick’s Day parade on the TV, we also watched, and were fascinated by, some Riverdance. We tried to mimic some of it whilst sitting down – which was absolutely hilarious. We had a quiz, some Irish trivia and some Irish games, coin toss and roll a rainbow. We also found out what everybody’s leprechaun name was, which again was hilarious and made everyone laugh!
