A sunny day out for Brook House residents

Residents from Brook House Nursing Home in New Malden recently enjoyed a trip to Morden Hall Garden Centre and Park, making the most of the beautiful sunny weather. They were accompanied by Care Assistant Emily and Lifestyle Lead Natasha, with resident Ricca’s family also joining the trip—giving her a wonderful opportunity to create more special memories with them.

The group stopped off at the café to tuck into a cup of tea and a slice of cake, then ventured around the garden centre, admiring the colourful displays. For Joseph, the outing was particularly meaningful as it marked his last trip before leaving Brook House. In a touching moment, he chose a plant to take back and add to the home’s garden to leave something for everyone to remember him by.

Residents then enjoyed a visit to the aquarium, where they marvelled at the fish and chatted about which their favourites were. Joan was especially taken with the playful Clownfish.

To round off the day, everyone explored Morden Hall Park, soaking in the sun and admiring the nature. Beryl shared how the scenery brought back fond memories of when she used to cycle through the park.

The Lifestyle Team at Brook House organises regular trips twice a month, giving residents the chance to explore new places, enjoy the outdoors, and create meaningful experiences. This visit to Morden Hall was a perfect example of the special memories these outings bring.
