We are delighted to report a remarkable 210% increase in activity participation since introducing our new activity programme last year.
This impressive boost has significantly improved morale among both residents and staff, creating a more positive and structured atmosphere while helping to reduce anxiety.
The programme ensures that every resident is offered at least two activities per day, with staff fully embracing the initiative and working closely with our therapy and nursing teams to make it a success.
To cater to all needs, the therapy team also introduced a range of five-minute activities — such as reading, hand massages, and short walks — alongside more engaging options like community outings, games, arts and crafts, live entertainment, concerts, and animal therapy.
Operations and Registered Manager, Shaun O’Gara said that families have warmly welcomed the change, noting the shift towards more positive communication. Rather than focusing solely on medical updates, they now regularly hear about the enjoyable and stimulating activities their loved ones are experiencing.
This has been incredibly reassuring and has strengthened the connection between families and the care environment, said Shaun.
“This surge in engagement has transformed the daily experience for our residents, reinforcing the value of meaningful activity in enhancing wellbeing and overall quality of life and we are excited to continue building on this success.”
