Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Braehill Lodge Care Home in Carnoustie, Angus.
Established in 1993 by Alex and Noreen Rowe, Braehill Lodge Care Home is registered for up to 24 older people and has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality care.
Its original building likely dates from the late Victorian or Edwardian era, with extension wings added to the rear and side varying in age from the mid-1990s onwards. Arranged over two storeys, the home has had significant investment over the years, resulting in a highly compliant and well-thought-out 24-bedroom home.
The property is nestled amongst residential dwellings in the popular golf resort of Carnoustie, Angus, and enjoys an elevated site, offering views over the town and the sea beyond.
Alex and Noreen Rowe decided to sell to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with Martin Daw at Christie & Co, the home has been sold to an expanding local operator.
Noreen Rowe, former owner of Braehill Lodge Care Home, comments, “We enjoyed our years at Braehill, however, we felt the time was right to retire. We wish the new owners every success.”
Martin Daw, Senior Director at Christie & Co, comments, “It is always encouraging to see smaller care homes transact in the market. With the continued and evolving operational cost challenges, it’s often the small homes that struggle to survive but Braehill was one of the exceptions. The home thrived from a high level of private clients and delivered consistently good quality grades with the Care Inspectorate. We wish the new operator success in this latest adventure as they continue to expand in the Scottish market."
Braehill Lodge Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
