Residents and staff at Cookridge Court Care Home in Leeds set themselves the challenge to knit bundles of hats for the neonatal baby unit at Leeds Children’s hospital during their weekly ‘Knit and Natter Club’.
Residents, Rose Towler and Margaret Lewis visited the unit with 30 hats, 2 blankets plus a handful of cardigans to LGI Clarendon Wing Ward L45. Rose, a resident of the home for some years said, ‘it’s so lovely to do something worthwhile for such a good cause and I hope they enjoy them’
The knitting club meets weekly at Cookridge Court and residents and staff have enjoyed sitting chatting and creating these wonderful hats and blankets for the babies. They have not finished yet they plan to keep going through the year. If anyone would like to donate some wool or join us, please contact the home.
