Great Oaks has been crowned the winner of the Dorset Building Excellence Awards 2018 for Best Inclusive Building.

The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Excellence Awards celebrate achievements within the construction industry. They reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, as well as partnerships and individuals that exceed expectations. Specialist development company, Quantum, were awarded the top position for Best Inclusive Building in recognition of its high standards of design, construction and workmanship for Great Oaks care home in Bournemouth.

The Dorset award for Best Inclusive Building recognises schemes that have gone beyond minimum design standards to ensure that the highest levels of inclusive design have been achieved; avoiding segregation and barriers to access. The design and construction of Great Oaks demonstrates an inclusive scheme that goes beyond Part M of the Building Regulations and adopts a pan-disability/pan-impairment approach; incorporating the needs of a wide range of users.
