National Care Home Open Day fast approaching, we thought we would provide an update on some of the activities happening across our homes, so you can find a home near to you to support.

In celebration of our 10th anniversary, all 23 homes are currently designing and baking a special cake to mark our decade in business. The baked goods will be judged as part of this year’s National Care Home Open Day.

The Healthcare Homes ‘Bake-Off Challenge’ enables staff and residents to come up with a creative design, colours or theme for their cakes. The finished products will then be on display at each home on Friday 19th June, which coincides with National Care Home Open Day, enabling visitors to both view and sample the delicious cakes with afternoon tea.

Coffee Morning, including a Tombola and Games. Music at 3pm with the HOBBLERS. Anniversary Cake Display

Mill Lane Nursing Home, Felixstowe, Suffolk:
Visitors will be welcome to join in with games and a sing-a-long in the morning.

Mill Lane will then be joining its friends over at Hillcroft House in Stowmarket for an afternoon garden party.

Olive House, Newton Flotman, Norfolk:
A seaside-themed day with a coffee morning, including scones jam and cream to raise money for the resident’s amenity fund. A fish and chips lunch will be served followed by Del Firman entertains in the afternoon. This will include an ice cream stall with different toppings.
