Organiser: Kingsthorpe View Care Home

You are invited to this year’s Harvest Festival Celebrations which take place on Thursday 6th October 2016, 2-5pm.
Harvest Festival has become a regular feature in the HC-One Care Home calendar as it allows the care home group to open their doors and welcome the community into their homes.

A number of residents find it increasingly more difficult to access the community due to physical frailty so this event enables HC-One to bring the community to them.

Amongst the invitees to Harvest Festival are children and teachers from local primary schools, members of key local community groups, residents who live locally in sheltered housing schemes and people that have enquired about care in their homes over recent months.

Celebrations to mark the harvest will include;
• Harvest themed activities
• Refreshments
• Craft displays
• Meet new friends from the community
• Distribution of their harvest collection to elderly neighbours
• Fundraising activities for The Silver Line

This year’s Harvest Festival is in support of 'The Silver Line' a free confidential helpline providing information, companionship and advice to older people. They also offer fantastic volunteer and pen-pal services to help them build relationships outside of the home. They will be celebrating the harvest with an array of activities and food collections.

Building ongoing links with community groups remains important to their residents; they hold regular coffee mornings which welcome in the community; so if you aren’t able to join the Harvest Festival they would welcome you to attend.

HC-One really hope that you can go along and join them in their celebrations and make the day a real community event!
