Date: Friday 28 Jun 2019
Location: Ferendune Court, Faringdon
Organiser: Ferendune Court
Nursery children and residents from a care home in Faringdon will be decorating bunting as part of a nationwide celebration.
Anchor’s Ferendune Court care home in Ash Close will be participating in Care Home Open Day (CHOD) on Friday 28 June, along with thousands of care homes across the country.
This year’s theme is the arts, and children from the Railway Nursery will join residents from Ferendune Court for the crafts session where they will be painting and drawing on the triangles of the bunting which will be displayed around the care home.
Home Manager Alison Grimshaw said: “People don’t realise how we transform older people’s lives for the better here so Care Home Open Day is the chance for people to find out what a care home is really like.
“For many people, the first time they come into contact with the care sector is when their relative can’t cope living in their home. Our doors are always open to people but we hope CHOD will be the opportunity the local community to visit us so we can answer their questions.
“They can also join in the fun activities on the day which we regularly organise for our residents to improve their mental and physical well-being.”
