View Full Details of Barchester Middletown Grange Care HomeWhere to start - My uncle had go to to a care home after leaving the hospital and he ended up going to one but they could not meet his needs as he needed a nursing home, not a care home. So 2100 hrs one Friday night I started emailing local nursing homes asking for help. The following morning the manager at Middletown Grange contacted me to offer her help. She was very reassuring on the phone and made my uncle feel very important so we arranged a visit that lunchtime. Wow, what can I say what a place. The Middletown Grange is so clean so warm so welcoming from the reception area to the comfortable lounge to the well-organised restaurant. The bedroom that was offered to my uncle was stunning, all new solid furniture very well presented with his own en-suite shower room with views onto a courtyard. After a tour round and a good conversation with the manager and nurses on site, we moved him in. 4 weeks into his permanent stay he is very happy. Thank you so much.
Today, Christmas Day, we shared Christmas lunch with our Dad at Middletown Grange. It was beyond anything I expected. I know the food is wonderful every day, thank you chef! The little dining room was set up beautifully with decorations, lights and a lovely table for us. The carers brought our food to us and checked everything was ok for Dad and us. Throughout December Dad and I have shared some lovely activities and made a lot of memories. Today was so special and a day I won't forget. Thank you everyone at Middletown Grange.
All staff are lovely and kind. Can't do enough for us. Always welcomed with a smile and hello. Care and compassion outstanding. Food good quality and offer things off menu if don't fancy anything. Atmosphere is good, furnishings lovely. Mum feels safe and secure here.
Our parents have been residents at Middletown Grange Care home for over 2 years and I would like to say how all the team are working hard to ensure they are having the best possible care. That includes all the caring staff, plus support staff who take the time to make a fuss about our parents. Both parents have dementia and are residents upstairs. Whilst we cannot change their medical conditions which are gradually deteriorating, I am happy in the knowledge they are safe and cared for 24 hours a day. We have occasionally visited during lunch and the staff allowed us to stay and have a wonderful meal with them which is what they used to enjoy at home.
We cannot praise the home, the staff high enough, wonderful team. Please thank all your staff.
What a brilliant day we have had here at Barchester Middletown Grange Care Home today at the family BBQ. The food, as always, was excellent and the staff were all on hand to look after both residents and families. Piano man and the saxophone player provided us with great music to sing along to. The highlight of my day was being surprised by everyone singing Happy Birthday to me with a beautiful cake. Not only are the residents looked after, so are the families. Thank you all so much for making my dad's life here so happy which, in turn, makes me happy.
Really happy, in general, with the care of Mum. Home is a warm and friendly place and, in the most, staff are focused on the dignity and support of the residents. Some carers are better than others. More help and support could be provided in small areas, such as ensuring hearing aid batteries are topped up regularly, so Mum can hear, and being aware of when her legs are beginning to swell up.
Dad and his wife were together in your care at Middletown Grange for over 2 years. Dad passed peacefully early this New Year. I would like to put in writing my thanks to all the staff for the kindness, empathy - indeed love - that you all showed our family at that most difficult time. It was so very much appreciated by my wife, my daughters, and me. My admiration and gratitude to all of you at Middletown Grange is immense. I could not think of a more wonderful place for my StepMum to be looked after still. Thank you all!
My mother spent the last two years of her life at Middletown Grange Care Home. She was well cared for, with staff taking an interest in her family and life experiences, as well as adapting their routines to suit her individual needs. They ensured she had a plentiful supply of reading material, as well as a bookcase to store them. The nurses took time to understand her complex medical needs and ensure she was comfortable, as well as keeping her informed of medical appointments. Mum shared much laughter with all the staff! Thank you from all her family.
The Staff at Middletown Grange welcomed the whole family to celebrate my wife's Grandad's 103rd birthday. This is our second visit and we have all been extremely impressed with the care and attention each member of staff give to each resident and guests. Thanks to the Staff for decorating the quiet room and thanks to the Chef for the delicious Sunday roast, we all enjoyed being able to share this special day together.
Uncle recently moved to this care home. We were very impressed with its homeliness on our first visit, greeted by friendly, caring and professional staff. We returned to join him for lunch to celebrate his 103rd birthday with the rest of the family and were amazed to find that they had arranged and prepared one of their lounges for a large family party. We were treated to a three-course menu, with full table service and a large birthday cake, all made at the home by their own chef. A big thank you to everyone for making it such a special day for us all.
Me and my family spent the weekend of the 20th of April celebrating my grandad's 103rd birthday. It was the first time I had visited my grandad since his move to Middletown Grange. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and most importantly my grandad is happy. He is cared for, kept safe and offered lots of opportunities to socialise. Carers went above and beyond, there were 14 of us who had a sit-down meal in lovely surroundings. The chef, hats off to you, our meal was lovely and the bread and butter pudding with custard was yummy. Having seen the home and met carers I felt reassured that the decision made as a family to move grandad was definitely the right one. I wish all care homes for our elderly reflected that of Middletown Grange, if they did then I am sure there would be less anxiety for those having to move to such provisions and their family.
Celebrated my Grandad's 103rd birthday with family last weekend and we all had a smashing time. Thanks to all the Staff for decorating the quiet lounge and for providing a delicious lunch and birthday cake. He moved here in January and we are all so pleased that he has settled in marvellously.
We arrived from Plymouth, to celebrate our grandad's 103rd birthday, with all of our family, the staff were lovely and we throughly enjoyed the delicious three course meal they proved us. The quite lounge was fully decorated, with balloons and banners, which was a brilliant space to enjoy such a lovely celebration. Thank you very much for all your effort and looking after our special grandad, we look forward to our next visit!
My father-in-law moved from the North to Barchester Middletown Grange Care Home at the end of January. He is happy and contented and the family are all very pleased with the care and attention he receives. Nothing is too much trouble and recently the staff hosted a superb party for his 103rd birthday which all his family attended. I would recommend Middletown Grange, without hesitation, to anyone looking for care for a loved one.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who made a wonderful birthday celebration lunch (April 21st) for my uncle who resides at Barchester Middletown Grange Care Home. We celebrated with him (all fourteen of us!) with a yummy birthday lunch, complete with a birthday cake too made by your dedicated staff, you made him and the family feel so special. Thank you so much for all your hard work and special touches, he had and we all had a wonderful time celebrating with him. Thank you!

I know that Dad is happy there and takes part in lots of activities arranged; he is well looked after and has settled in which is a big relief for us all.
They look after my father and I don't have any complaints on his care. Since he has been moved from Banbury to Witney it's much easier for us to visit him. I am in there every other day and all the staff are very helpful in all they do.
The environment is always clean and neat. The residents and staff always seem happy. Middletown Grange is a great place to be. My friend is well looked after and he's happy living in the home. The staff are attentive and engaging.
My mother is very well looked after, the staff are always very helpful caring and certainly treat my mother with great respect. I don't live locally, but know that someone will always contact me if my mum isn't feeling great which means I feel comforted knowing she is so well cared for. I can't believe the work that goes into providing activities of all sorts for the residents, it's truly amazing the things they do. Thank you, Middletown Grange.
