View Full Details of Springfield Care HomeMum is a new resident. She settled almost immediately due to the pleasant surroundings and number of professional and overall caring nature of the staff. The place is warm smells pleasant, and there is plenty to do! The best assets are the staff. They take a real interest in their residents and the needs of relatives.
My Gran has spent her 99th and last year at Springfield in the dementia unit on the top floor and sadly passed away peacefully in their care last week. Over the year we have met all the carers, managers, and support staff, and every time we have been greeted with caring, happy, considerate people who have made us feel welcome and supported us when Gran had increasing dementia and other challenges. Gran, a fiercely independent lady struggled with leaving her home but over the year settled and said how lovely it was and how kind and nice everyone was, which meant we could all get some sleep. I was especially grateful for being able to bring my little cockerpoos in to visit great grandma, which when gran remembered very little, she enjoyed them. I will also be eternally grateful for the consideration shown after the carers said they would provide palliative care so Gran now unconscious did not need to go to hospital and could stay with people's voices she had gotten used to. Thank you so much.
Mum had been in the hospital with Alzheimer's prior to moving into Springfield Care Home in March 2024. We wanted to care for Mum but circumstances meant that her needs could no longer be met at home. We were anxious about Mum moving into care but we can honestly say that we felt all of Mum's needs were met at Springfield. All the staff were kind, warm and understanding. The food was good and cleaning was always to a high standard. Mum was only a resident for a short amount of time because sadly she passed away in August. If you are considering a member of your family moving into Springfield, I can highly recommend it.
Overall I am happy with the care my mother receives. I believe the standards have risen since the new manager came into the post in 2023. Most of the staff (and others including hospitality and cleaners) are lovely, though I have been disappointed on a few occasions, not recently. The reception staff are always friendly and welcoming. Communication with me is good. I am confident my mum is safe and her needs are being met.
Mum is so happy since moving in only a few weeks ago. Her words are it’s like a posh hotel and the food and service are fantastic. I was really nervous moving Mum with Alzheimer’s into a home, but I needn’t have worried, all the staff are fantastic and have been fantastic with Mum. The place is always spotless and the care they show the residents is first-class. There are lots of activities every day and all the staff go out of their way to make the residents happy and well cared for. I am so glad that Mum will spend the rest of her days here and she is now happy, safe and enjoying her final days. Thank you Springfield for making Mum happy again.
My mother moved to this care home in May 2024, she was struggling with independent living as her condition was declining and becoming hard for her to manage daily living on her own and a constant worry for the family. However, now she is settled into her new home we have all noticed a remarkable change in her within a couple of weeks, this is down to the level of care and love, the support she is now getting from the incredibly well-trained team/staff at this beautiful home. I would highly recommend them to any family who needs additional care or support with a loved one. Well done to every person who plays a part in this home making it the place it is and letting my mother have some quality of life back and enjoyment.
My grandmother has just moved into the home and I’m so pleased with what I've seen so far. She’s settled and the staff are lovely. Facilities are great and the place is spotless. Great communication and assistance.
I am a regular visitor to Springfield to see my family friend. The staff are so kind and always greet me with a smile. Her room is always clean and tidy and if I have any concerns staff are always there to listen. I also enjoy the entertainment the home puts on if it falls on my visit day. I would recommend the care home to my friends too.
My mum has been a resident at Springfield for 4 years and throughout this time. She has been provided with excellent care. I would definitely recommend Springfield as a care facility. Thank you to all concerned.
My cousin was admitted to Springfield two weeks ago. She has settled so well. All staff are professional, friendly, and approachable from reception to management. My cousin says the food is lovely. The home is spotless and has a very friendly atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Springfield as a care home for loved ones.
Grandma came on respite to give our family a rest and was cared for by fabulous staff. She can’t wait to come again. She said the activities and food were excellent and made some lovely friends. Her bedroom was very nice too.
My mother-in-law went for respite, and it was clear she needed to be in the home as a resident. The two managers pulled out all the stops to assist us in getting her place secured, pointing us where we needed to go to make this happen. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, and nothing is too much trouble. They have all ensured that my mother-in-law has settled and made friends. They are constantly putting activities on to keep the residents engaged and even encourage us to join in if we're visiting that day. I honestly couldn't recommend this care home enough; the staff and residents have become extended family to us.
Mum is 97 and moved into Springfield 18 months ago due to the onset of dementia, she has settled well and is happy. She is well looked after and the family is kept informed with regard to any medical issues she has had. Activities are provided but due to Mum's dementia she can't remember what she has done so I feel unable to comment on this aspect. I live over 200 miles away, the staff have been extremely kind and helpful and are very welcoming when I am able to visit. Mum doesn't recognise me now but the staff are always considerate and sympathetic. From my experience, I would recommend Springfield Care Home.
Being the son of my mum who was in here for initially 6 weeks respite couldn't have been happier with the level of care and service which we got from the members of staff and the management team at Springfield. Mum settled in very quickly and we knew we had made the right decision in choosing Springfield for my mum's care needs. We were so pleased that we chose to keep Mum in full-time care with this home.
My dad moved into this lovely home in October 2023 and he has settled in so well - the care, love and support that he receives from all the staff is great. He is able to choose how much interaction he accesses and the staff allow him to have a voice in every aspect of his care, which is important to him. He has said recently to visiting professionals that he loves his room and it is his home. Thank you Springfield for all that you do, you go above and beyond.
I like it here, and all the staff are lovely. I have been here for two years, and it feels like my home and family.
My husband was referred to Springfield Care home on December 20th 2020. He was discharged from the hospital, having had heart failure, Covid, 2 wedge compression fractures in his lower back, and a bleed on the brain. He weighed 7 stone 4lbs on admittance there, having lost over 2 stone whilst being hospitalised. He looked dreadful and was not expected to see Christmas 2020. Springfield Care Home, with a nutritious diet, expert care and attention, and exercise got his weight up to over 9 stone, and also improved his mobility in the 3-months he was there, he returned home on 29th March 2021. Springfield cared for us, his family, at home with consideration, and information as to his progress, and as a family, we cannot thank them enough. Should the need arise for respite care for my husband, we shall not hesitate to contact them.
My partner has been treated with care and kindness at all times, but especially during the Covid pandemic. Help is given with personal cleanliness and dressing if required. Meals are varied and are served well. Plenty of drinks and snacks available on request. I have been informed by staff on falls or illness is affecting my partner, and advised of treatment given and kept informed on his recovery.
My mum has always been looked after with kindness, care and maintained her dignity at Springfield. It is the hardest thing when someone you love needs to go to a care home, but the staff have become like an extended family to me. Over the pandemic, the well-being team have worked so hard enabling contact between us and keeping Mum active and entertained. The management team are approachable and supportive, as are all the members of the caring staff.
Springfield has shown such dedication to the residents and family during this difficult time. I would definitely recommend Springfield to anyone looking for residential care. My aunt has been there since August 2019 and settled in well. Thanks to the whole team.
