View Full Details of Bramble CottageAll the staff are very friendly and welcoming and will go the 'extra mile' as a regular behaviour. The food is excellent and the management are very involved in the care given to residents. The support given to my mother and myself has been exemplary. I have no hesitation in recommending Bramble Cottage.
I spent two weeks at Bramble Cottage after surgery. It is a lovely place with some beautiful rooms overlooking a pretty garden. The staff and management strike a very good balance of caring for residents whilst enabling them to be as independent as they wish/are able. I especially appreciated being able to eat in my room as I wasn't very mobile. Nothing was too much trouble and the weekly activities were enthusiastically undertaken. My only reservation was about the quality of the food - which was edible without being inspiring. But there was a choice and you could request alternatives. I could see that many permanent residents didn't seem to have much appetite. Overall, I found it a very good experience and met some lovely people. Thank you.
My husband, who is handicapped with Alzheimer's, was looked after very well during five weeks of respite. He was made to feel very welcome and encouraged to join the activities, which he enjoyed. All members of staff are friendly, caring and helpful. Bramble Cottage feels clean and fresh and exudes a nice, homely and welcoming atmosphere.
My sister is looked after very well. Everybody is very kind and helpful. My sister is very happy here.
Have felt very comfortable at Bramble Cottage. The staff are so kind and patient. They cannot do enough for everybody. The care home is so well organised and run so smoothly. The staff are always around for every need. Lovely bedroom and surroundings.
Bramble Cottage is warm and caring, has an extremely good atmosphere and the staff are its biggest asset. Nothing is too much trouble for them. All tasks are always coupled with a smile. They are very approachable and always available. There is a beautiful garden which residents are welcome to enjoy. There are activities available on most days. The food is good, with seasonal menus. The only downside is the showers which need updating.
On my visits, I have found all staff and managers very polite and friendly. They go the extra mile to make everyone's stay and visit very good. Would and have recommended to others that it's a very good home.
After my dad's health deteriorated quite rapidly, he moved into Bramble Cottage. A beautiful home, with beautiful gardens and the most wonderful staff. After years of caring for my dad, I had absolutely no reservations of him being cared for at Bramble Cottage. I was able to be his daughter again instead of his carer, which I'll be forever grateful for. All the staff made us feel welcome from the start and my dad couldn't believe how lucky he was to be staying in such a lovely home. His wishes and dignity was respected throughout his time at Bramble Cottage. The staff were attentive and incredibly caring. Thank you all for looking after my lovely dad.
I have cared for my dear late wife for several years mainly at our home in Brighton. Over that time she has not enjoyed good health. Her mobility was very poor and she became virtually housebound. Our son and daughter became concerned about us saying the time had come for both of us to go into care. My wife was 91 years old and I am 90 years old. They told us they had visited Bramble Cottage Retirement Home in Brighton, speaking to the manager, looking at rooms etc and the excellent garden and patio and the cost involved. As a result, we became resident at that home in July 2022. The completed options below which I did are true in every sense. I am type 2 diabetic although I take insulin. The manager personally takes notice of my daily readings and insulin injected. In the early hours of Friday 18th November 2022, my dear wife of 67 years died peacefully in Bramble Cottage. The carers on duty gave comfort to me, my daughter and granddaughter. They advised for my late wife to be legally examined and pronounced dead and later to be taken away by our chosen funeral directors. Her funeral took place on 6th December 2022.
My mother and I visited several homes before we decided together on Bramble Cottage. From the outset, the manager and staff have been incredibly responsive to Mum's requests and have gone out of their way to make her feel welcomed and oriented. The house and garden are beautiful - the garden was a particular attraction for Mum and she quickly found her way around. She enjoys being with other residents at lunch and dinner and has been very impressed by the quality of the food. There are activities almost every afternoon and big efforts around seasonal celebrations. There's an 'open door' policy so family members are welcome to drop in without giving prior warning. Every member of staff I have spoken to has shown real care and respect towards, not just Mum, but all residents. On the couple of occasions when Mum's struggled with something, I've been informed quickly. Overall, I feel Mum is in excellent hands and highly recommend Bramble Cottage.
The Bramble Cottage staff are all absolutely incredible. They are all so kind, caring, thoughtful and very professional. I visited many care homes before we decided on Bramble Cottage for my great-aunt, and it was the best decision we could have made both for her and us. I know she is in the best hands possible, so we are not worried about her anymore. At 94, she now talks of Bramble Cottage as her home. She is so appreciative of the wonderful care she is given and the respect all the carers have for her.
Caring and kind in every way.
The support and care that my mum enjoyed from all the staff at Bramble Cottage over the years that she lived there, was the very best. She felt at home, and well looked after. The staff anticipated her future needs and accommodated her particular personal requirements with great understanding. They loved and cared for her, and supported me and my family in every possible way. Mum lived initially in a room at the top of the house, overlooking the lovely garden and then more latterly in a ground-floor room opening out onto the garden, which she loved. When she first moved to Bramble Cottage she regularly walked around the garden and joined in many of the activities that are put on. She also loved the food and looked forward to meal times in the dining room and when the time came to have some meals in her room. I am hugely grateful to all the staff team, who work as a team and took such great care of Mum.
I spent two weeks after an an operation, here. The staff were amazingly kind and thoughtful and there is a lovely atmosphere altogether. Lovely gardens and a perfect setting for an excellent jubilee barbecue.
Bramble Cottage has a warm and friendly environment with both front and rear gardens and a terrace for residents to sit out. The staff are splendid and dedicated and they throw the most amazing parties and BBQs. I was reminded that my sister was the last dancer on the floor some years ago. She was in Bramble for four and a half years and what she liked was the freedom to go out whenever she liked. We were very grateful that she was mentally stable throughout her stay due to the support and companionship of the staff.
My mother finds it very comfortable with a homely feel. Good conversations are had with members of the caring team, with plenty of laughter along the way. There is also interest and entertainment when meeting up with fellow residents and the visiting singers, quiz masters etc, really help to brighten the day too. We are now lucky enough to be able to enjoy the outside purpose-built room which is wonderful for family visits.
Although I was only at Bramble for two weeks, I was very impressed with the level of care and service provided. All the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them and they were obviously happy in their work. If I decided that I needed permanent residential care, I would definitely make Bramble Cottage my first choice.
My friend and I had the opportunity to visit prior to admission and we were shown around and she felt very welcomed and comfortable. She came into the home on 2nd February 2022 and quickly made the decision to stay as she felt 'cared for' in a way that she hadn't for a long time. Because of an incident, she moved into a larger room, which she is so happy with. She feels the care is exemplary. The food is excellent and the home is well managed and is very clean. One disadvantage is the bathroom.
My father moved to Bramble Cottage in October 2021 and settled in quickly with the care and support of the staff. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful and whenever I have asked for something, either in regard to my Dad's care or to help me understand how things work at Bramble Cottage, they have, in an excellent timely manner, answered my questions, given me the information I asked for or tweaked his care. I am very happy with the care given to my dad and the facilities at Bramble Cottage and would recommend them if you are looking for a residential home for your loved one.
My husband was looked after in his final weeks in this superb home he loved every one of the caring staff. He enjoyed the lovely food and was comfortable in this home from home. I'm really grateful for the wonderful care he received, from all the kind, caring staff.
