View Full Details of Barchester Caldy ManorMum loves being in Caldy Manor. She absolutely loves her room and really values having access to the beautiful grounds. She has nothing but praise for the staff who treat her with so much respect and dignity. She loves her days out, but always looks forward to returning. Mum was very ill when she entered Caldy. The improvement in her mental and physical health since being a resident has been remarkable.
I travel back and forth from New York to see my mother and every time, I am amazed by the care she is given. The management and staff at Barchester Caldy Manor genuinely care for Mum. They go out of their way to ensure her long-term comfort and care. I can't recommend Caldy Manor highly enough. My mum is safe, comfortable and truly loved by all of the staff caring for her. With huge thanks.
When visiting Barchester Caldy Manor, I find the home and the staff welcoming. My grandma, who has been a resident for a few years now, has found herself somewhere she can live happily knowing she will be well cared for. She even goes out on trips with other residents, including a recent trip down the canals. I also remember seeing photos of her in Llandudno and Park Gate. The team are great with her and her increasing needs. I wouldn't consider another home.
I am so glad that my mother spent her last four years at Caldy Manor Care Home, this really is a special place - not only are the house and grounds wonderful to live in but the love and care from every member of staff was exceptional. The manager leads a fantastic team by example, showing real love and respect for all of the residents. Every effort was made to make my mother feel at home and a valued member of the family and, despite her growing dementia, she regularly joined in with many activities and outings that added tremendously to her quality of life. During the last few days of Mum's life, the care staff did everything possible to give support to the family and allow my mother to die with dignity in her final home. The manager herself joined in with shifts of sitting at Mum's bedside and kept us updated when we could not be there. Staff members even turned up to the funeral to pay their respects. I can't say a big enough 'Thank You' to all!
My father received excellent care at Barchester Caldy Manor Care Home. All the staff were kind, attentive and efficient. They should be very proud of the service they provide. The room was warm and comfortable. Lovely gardens and places to walk.
My relative has been at Caldy Manor Care Home for a few years and always had super love and care. This year she was in hospital. The Caldy Manor team, through this time, were absolutely exceptional with their care and support. They visited our relative when they had finished their shift, brought in perfumes, photos and creams to make them comfortable. They sat and talked to our relative for hours. The manager was an absolute rock for my brother and I, sending us messages of support, checking in on us and how we were coping, offering to bring us food, sit with our relative to give us time to sleep/shower, we felt like her number one priority. She was there with us every step of the way. We couldn't have gotten through it without her. The hospital said our relative wouldn't walk again but the manager didn't accept this - she has supported with care, arranging physio and now our relative is standing again. They never gave up on our relative and the care is above and beyond - truly exceptional.
We recently attended the care home for a family day. We had the best time, the atmosphere was so happy, the residents were all included and the staff made sure no one was left out! The company that brought the animals for us all to look at where amazing and were fabulous with the residents.
We have been very pleased with Caldy Manor since Mum moved in 30 months ago. Mum has become relaxed and far less anxious than previously. The staff and their care have been the primary reason for this. Not only are they attentive, but their time in the role makes for an ongoing, familiar environment. Add to that the diverse and frequent range of activities, and it is easy to see why Mum has improved. We are very happy that Mum moved to Caldy Manor.
My Father-in-Law has lived at Caldy Manor for seven years so we have got to know the colleagues there and the premises quite well with family visiting every couple of days. I have visited a number of care homes and Caldy Manor stands apart as having a beautiful environment, quality surroundings, food choices and levels of cleanliness. This is a beautiful old Manor House staffed with a full range of highly skilled and caring people. In summer the gardens are more accessible and are beautifully maintained. The level of care - and clear love - that colleagues at Caldy Manor showed for my Father-in-Law was exceptional; he clearly had become part of their family and nothing he required was too much. Thank you so much to everyone at Caldy Manor for making my Father-in-Law so comfortable and to feel so welcomed.
Staff are always available to help. They know the residents well and are aware of their individual needs. They go above and beyond to make both residents and visitors feel welcome. The grounds are peaceful and the rooms have a homely feel.
Caldy Manor is unlike many purpose-built care homes and doesn’t have a clinical feel. It is a lovely old Manor House set in a pretty garden with a terrace residents can sit out on. The welcome I received was warm and genuine. The staff were professional and caring and treated residents with kindness, dignity and respect. The home feels like a family.
My mother moved into Caldy Manor four months ago. Considering her circumstances, 90 with dementia, Mum settled into the home so quickly. From day one, I have been very impressed with the quality of care; all interactions I have seen between staff and residents have been incredibly friendly and supportive – a very caring, professional and well-run home. The relatively smaller home, in terms of the number of residents, helps create a supportive family atmosphere. Considerable efforts are made to provide a range of events for the residents. The facilities, including lounge, bedroom, communal areas, dining room etc, are all maintained to a high standard, with a lovely area outside for drinks and/or walks in the garden. Moving an aged parent into a care home is never an easy decision, but I can honestly say moving Mum into Caldy Manor was the best decision we could have made, and we are extremely happy with the standard of care and attention. Thank you.
It is eight months since my parents' arrival here. The staff supported them in their greatest wish to stay together till the end, when Mum passed away in February. The staff have always been kind, respectful and cheerful, trying hard to care for each person individually, whilst balancing this with the needs of other residents. They have an intuitive sense as to just how much care will be accepted without irritating or aggravating residents. They try to encourage residents to get involved in group activities and outings, and to live as full and happy a life as possible but respect Dad when he chooses to be in his room. Staff do everything they can to facilitate family and friends visiting, for meals in and trips out. My family and I have talked often over the last few months with the manager and other staff, and are always made to feel valued, even when staff are busy. The manager is a very caring, perceptive, readily available, and she leads a fantastic team of people. Thank you.
The service and attention I have received since my arrival has been of the highest quality. The care staff and managers are of the highest standard. I could not have expected better. Your staff are without exception of the highest quality. Thank you.
My mother spent twelve months on Memory Lane. The staff kept her looking immaculate as they do all the residents. However, this home should not take dementia patients. My mother was unceremoniously told to leave between Christmas and New Year because the staff could not cope with her behaviour, but they advertise dementia care. I think training is lacking especially de-escalation training. I was not allowed back in her room, staff bought bags and boxes out to the car park. This is no way to treat a 97-year-old lady. Memory lane needs increased staffing.
My 90-year-old father had respite care in Clady Manor. He was treated very well, with courtesy and respect. He enjoyed the food and the activities provided. The staff are friendly and fellow residents provided him with good companionship. He was happy and said all the staff did their best. The manager is insightful, intuitive and makes every effort to treat all residents as individuals. She is a superb manager, kind and caring to relatives as well. Thank you
The staff have treated me with kindness and concern, Similarly, my husband has been very well cared for and has enjoyed very good cooking. My thanks to all concerned during a stressful time.
A heartfelt thank you to the general manager and all the team at Caldy Manor. My Mum had 3 weeks of respite at Caldy in September and was so well cared for by everyone. All of the staff were so kind, patient and attentive towards her; I can’t thank them enough. I would fully recommend Caldy Manor.
Due to my Mum's mental incapacity from dementia, we had recently moved my Mum in to live with us after she had spent 16 months in another residential facility. However, when my Father-in-Law died we needed to use respite care; so having done a fair bit of research and based on our previous experience with care facilities we chose Caldy Manor. From the initial enquiry the staff at Caldy Manor showed genuine care, kindness and expertise. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay albeit short and she was well looked after. I have no hesitation to highly recommend this facility for whatever needs your relative or family needs.
My father has now been living at Barchester Caldy Manor for over 5 years. He's very happy there are the staff are very attentive to his needs and wishes. We have been able to visit regularly despite covid due to the installation of a dedicated visitor pod. Whilst he jokes with us that it's a bit like prison visiting it works really well giving privacy and a lack of background noise enabling him to hear us clearly. There are plenty of activities for the residents to join in an outing in the minibus which he enjoys. The food is excellent and there's plenty of choice.
