My aunty spent 6 years at Park Lodge spending her last years here being well cared for. I chose Park Lodge because it had a homely feel about it being quite small. The room she stayed in was cosy with an on suite always kept clean and tidy. Food was varied and plentiful which my aunty very much enjoyed. As time progressed my aunty needed more personal care as she became bedridden. My aunty was carefully monitored and received regular visits from the local doctor. I have been kept informed about her medical needs by the home and her end of life care was exempt My aunty built up a special relationship with all the carers and this, I'm sure, helped her mentally to cope with her illness.
Friendly staff. Kindness and understanding to all the residents. Cleanliness in the rooms and the home is very good. More activities are needed, including music to stimulate the residents. I would like to see the outside surrounding a bit neater with colourful flowers everywhere.
My Aunt has been a resident here for nearly two and a half years. The staff here are superb. Nothing is ever too much trouble. My Aunt enjoys every aspect of her care and attention, also her food. I am more than happy with every aspect of her care.
The conservatory is a lovely environment for residents. Entertainer (singer) comes, exercises/games can also be done. Staff are very attentive and caring.
I and my brother found Park Lodge was an excellent care home for our mother who is now 96 years of age. All the staff are very attentive to detail with regard to our mother's health and welfare. Encouraging her to eat and drink when she is feeling a bit low because she has now become bedridden after losing the use of her legs. She used to be a very independent lady.
Park Lodge Care Home is relatively small - maximum of 17 residents. This enables both residents and staff to get to know each other very well leading to a great family atmosphere which is both caring and homely. Continuing the family approach, the meals are freshly prepared at Park Lodge and they are excellent. My mother has lived there for nearly three years after the death of her husband. Instead of living what could have been lonely last years, she has made many new friends from both staff and residents and she joins in many of the activities available.
Park Lodge appears to me to be a friendly home where residents feel part of a family. The staff do their very best to meet the needs of all residents and provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. As a visitor, I have always been treated courteously and made to feel welcome - often with a cup of tea!
