View Full Details of Blossom HouseSo pleased I moved my mum to Blossom House from her previous care home. The staff really care about each individual resident's needs and interests and support each other, as a team. They treat my mum so kindly and make her feel safe and make a fantastic effort to keep her engaged and involved in all the numerous activities that take place. The environment and respect for each resident is brilliant and genuine, and they listen to residents and families to ensure that they can provide the best care. Well done Blossom House!
A well run and caring home in which our mother has resided for the past two years. The staff are experienced and dedicated, the building although old is in good order and our mother's room in particular has beautiful views of the Malvern Hills. The food is good, with a very knowledgeable cook who goes above and beyond her duties. Altogether a care home to be recommended.
My father-in-law has only been in the home since mid-December but I was very impressed from day 1 with the level of professionalism of the staff. After a couple of weeks, he seemed to be settling in fine, and the kindness and courtesy which he receives from everyone involved in his care is second to none. There seem to be plenty of activities for the residents to take part in if they so wish, and as my father-in-law was admitted during December he got to go to the Christmas and New Years parties.
Blossom House has a lovely, homely atmosphere. The staff are always very welcoming. They treat my mother with kindness, care and respect. The food is very good and my mother enjoys the meals. She has a lovely room which is kept clean and tidy.
I visited my father for Father's Day and witnessed the staff going around each resident that is a father giving them each a nicely presented present and of the care and attention they gave to each one. I was very impressed at the level of genuine support they gave to each, it moved me to see it.
The staff are welcoming and obliging to visitors and my mother likes her carers. Her room is clean and the communal spaces well decorated. The food is fine. I appreciate the thoroughness of the approach to her medical needs. My mother seems very happy in the home.
My dad, who has been a resident at Blossom House for over eighteen months, was resident of the week. Myself and family were invited to join Dad for lunch. What a fab experience. Dad had chosen his favourite lunch and we all had a lovely home. All your care staff and office staff are exemplary and treat my dad like a king. They often refer to him by a nickname which is adorable. One member of staff leads his team exceptionally and is always available to chat to us about Dad. Thank you all.
Excellent all round. My only criticism has been about the doorbell when trying to gain entry, I have raised this point before and have been reassured that the staff hear the bell and will answer as soon as possible.
Mum has resided at Blossom House for over two years and I've been impressed by the way the team have patiently dealt with the issues resulting from her advanced dementia. All credit to the management team, who are focused on delivering the best possible environment by way of personalized care with a dedicated staff that, in my opinion, embrace the residents as family. The care team are exceptional and it was no surprise to see a senior member winning the Dementia Carer Award in Worcestershire's 2023 Health and Social Care awards. The variety of activities, again centred on the person, is first class and you cannot fail to be touched by the happy smiles of the residents pictured on the home's social media page. Well done!
I have a lot of experience working in care homes, and should I ever feel the need to check into one, Blossom House would be high on the list. The Care staff are exceptional, hard-working, and attentive. The entertainment is the best I have encountered anywhere, by a big margin. My father-in-law has visited the Morgan Museum, has swimming sessions once a fortnight, has been out to the seaside, and garden centre, plus much more. Something nice seems to happen at least once a week, and it's something that can easily be overlooked, as the member of staff just quietly goes about doing stuff without any fuss. My father-in-law is happy, and well cared for and I could not be happier with the way things have turned out for him. My only criticism is gaining entry to the home. Sometimes the doorbell is set too quietly for the carers to hear, and it does seem to be the job of the carers to answer the door, along with the mountains of other stuff they have to do.
My husband has been at Blossom House for nearly six months, and I have found the care to be second to none. The thought they put into birthdays and so on is quite touching. The warm smiles of the staff, not just the carers, make it a real home for its residents.
Reluctantly had to put our mother into care as dementia was getting to the point of being dangerous for her and to be at home on her own - wandering, falling, forgetting etc. We found Blossom House and we felt it was the home our mom needed to help her and us and as hard as it was Mom has settled and seems to have found home again. Staff are very understanding and provide a stimulating environment. When I have been to the house it is always clean. We are kept informed with social media, emails etc.
The team at Blossom House gave outstanding care to my mother during the last twelve months of her life. Nothing was too much trouble. Her dignity was always respected, and the staff, along with the residents, made her final year a very happy one.
My husband has been a resident for 4 months. He has settled well and perceives Blossom House as his home. His every need is catered for both physically and mentally. Carers are exceptional in their caring interest in every resident. Carers give off their time to involve family and friends in this case, making sure all are happy and satisfied with the well-being of their loved ones. I now realise that they do better than I could!
My father has been at Blossom House for just over a year. Initially, we were worried as he always said he would never go into a home, but he has flourished here. He is chatty and witty when we talk on the phone. He is delighted about the 'cheese and wine' or beer tasting events and entranced by the chickens and rabbits, he has always had a soft spot for pets. The home encourages his interests in astronomy and geology with talks and looking at the stars with his telescope, and even gets The Guardian so he can keep up with events. He has been encouraged to personalise his room with family photos, books and personal documents. The staff are lovely, they treat him with respect and care, but also with humour and kindness. I cannot praise them enough for the work they have done with Dad and the advice they have given the family as we got used to him being in a home.
Generally happy with how my Uncle is treated in particular the help we had taking him to a football match. His mental health seems to have slightly improved during his stay. We are always treated with respect when we visit him.
Blossom House is a wonderful home all the staff are so welcoming and friendly always very cheerful and positive. My mother-in-law is so happy since she arrived here joining in all the activities that they provide and eating well on the exceptional food that is provided. Knowing that she is so well cared for 24 hours a day gives us both peace of mind.
Lovely caring care home staff always friendly and helpful love the fact that they have pets makes a lot of difference to some residents especially my mum who loves a cuddle with the rabbit or just watching the chickens in the garden. Mum also looks forward to the Fish and Chips on a Friday if mum's happy I'm happy.
It is a lovely place and the staff are extremely helpful. From the first time calling to arranging FaceTime calls. It is lovely to see my nan with a smile and lovely staff that are very positive. I cannot praise them enough for the comfort and support for our loved one. The gardens look lovely and my nan even has a bird table outside her door to a well kept garden. It gives the family members peace of mind that she is well cared for and would strongly recommend, especially with the knit and natter session. Blossom House has a Facebook page (even a TikTok one too!) and it is great to see the number of activities that are shared.
We have been delighted with the care and support mum has received since her recent move to Blossom House. They truly support residents to live meaningful life where they feel valued. It was a difficult decision to move mum from her home, especially in a time of COVID, but she was isolating herself more and more and had stopped caring for herself. Since moving to Blossom House she has thrived and come alive again. She loves to join in with the many activities and to be part of the Blossom House team. Blossom House take a common-sense approach In respect of Covid, balancing risk with quality of life means we can still spend regular meaningful time with mum. The staff team have ensured they have got to know mum as an individual and have seen beyond dementia. We are more than happy!
