View Full Details of Oaktree Court Care HomeMy mother has been a permanent resident at Oaktree since May 2024, prior to this, she had been at 2 other homes for respite care. Oaktrees is definitely the friendliest and most caring home and my mother has been very happy at the home since her placement here. I have found all the staff approachable and appear happy in their caring roles. The home definitely has a family/homely feel which I particularly recommend it.
I'd like to say a big thank you to all of Oaktree staff who have made the transition from home to care home for our mother much easier than we anticipated. It's not been easy for us all but their dedication to helping her adapt and learn her ways has been heartfelt and amazing. We know as a family that Oaktree is the best place all around for her ongoing home life and care. All staff are so caring and calming, always able to answer any concerns. Thank you all.
I have often visited Oaktree Court for community events, over the last six years. I love its grounds and communal coffee area and having the chance to support them but also chat to some of the residents, who not only love to have different visitors and company telling you their stories but also listening to how they love living there. It is also great to see so many of the same staff who have been there for a number of years, which must be reassuring and supportive for residents. Especially given the industry.
Very pleased with the care given and the attitude of staff. Food we hear from our relative is excellent. Inside activities are imaginative and interesting, group outings brilliant and much appreciated - we have been very pleasantly surprised by how much our relative joins in the activities and with the encouragement given by the carers.
A warm smile from receptionist on arrival, helpful support and advice if needed, offer of refreshment when/if needed - and most important, the content, relaxed smiles of residents being visited. Who could ask for anything more?
My mum has been living here for about six months. The staff are very friendly and very good with my mum. As of yet, I can't find fault with anything. She is very happy here.
I have been living here since August 2023. Was very nervous about coming here, but found it to be a lovely place. The staff are all very helpful.
My uncle, having been in hospital for some months, was no longer able to return to his home. My dad and I had to find him residential care, and all thanks to my dad, he found Oaktree Court. It’s an absolutely amazing home, and the grounds are beautiful. The manager was an absolute joy and a pleasure to deal with, and we remain immensely grateful for all the help she gave to us during what was a difficult and stressful time trying to find a home for my uncle. Having visited my uncle, I could see how happy he is, and he idolises the staff, especially two members of staff, and vice versa of him. I cannot tell you how much comfort this brings to my dad and me as we live in Essex, so my uncle's well-being is paramount. Oaktree takes care of him, and we are so grateful to all the staff who work tirelessly every day to take care of not only my uncle but all the residents and who show beyond any doubt their commitment and dedication. Our sincere thanks to all of them for everything.
Oak Tree has looked after my mother since April 2018 beautifully. She thoroughly enjoyed life at Oak Tree and all the activities on offer until she developed dementia. The staff have been wonderful, especially one particular member of staff. We cannot thank all of the team at Oak Tree enough for their care especially in her final few weeks before she passed away.
The staff at Oaktree Court Care Home are always very helpful and friendly when we visit. If we have a query they are always happy to talk to us about it. During recent anniversary and birthday celebrations, they were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble, it really made the days special. Thank you so much.
Oaktree Court is a care home that provides excellent care in a lovely setting and I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful care my mother is receiving. She has been at Oaktree Court for five months now and right from the start she was made to feel very welcome and well looked after. All the staff, in whatever capacity, are caring, concerned and supportive in such a way as to create a sense of family. They are always cheerful, kind and patient. Over these five months my mother has become her happy self again and has the feeling that there is always someone there in she needs them. Oaktree Court has high standards of hygiene, the level of communication are also always good with e-mail updates and phone calls if necessary. Thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of my mother.
Though my mother really wanted to be at home, she was far too frail and I felt it was better she was looked after in a care home nearby. We were recommended to Oaktree Court Care Home by an independent carer, who in 20 years could not get a job there, as there were no vacancies, so not a large turnover of staff. They treated my mother with the utmost care, catering for her likes and dislikes, encouraging her to participate in activities and ensuring all her ailments were addressed correctly. Visiting was always welcomed and visitors treated with friendly respect. As mother came close to the end, the nurses outlined the expected stages and gave me total confidence in what would happen. I was overwhelmed, when so many staff came to see her and say goodbye (obviously without saying goodbye). They are all so dedicated and do their jobs with humility and the utmost care. I couldn't ask for a better care home. I was so pleased my mother was there, with total support, both for her and me.
My mother has been at Oaktree Court Care Home for a year now and right from the start she was made very welcome and well looked after. The staff are always really helpful and cheerful and give mum the care that she deserves. Although I was worried about how she would make the change, she felt immediately at home. When I visited her the next day, she looked like a new woman, relieved of the stress of living on her own and having to look after herself and has continued to prosper in the environment. She enjoys the company of the other residents and the staff and feels safe that there is always someone there if she needs them. Oaktree Court feels and looks more like a good hotel than a care home with beautiful grounds that my mother loves looking over. When looking for a home for her, I promised my mother that I would find her one that I would be happy going in if I ever required it and I feel that Oaktree Court has let me keep my promise.
I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful care our mother received at Oaktree Court. All the staff, in whatever capacity, were caring, concerned and supportive in a particularly personal way which created a sense of family. There was always something of interest arranged for the residents and, despite Covid restriction, a positive and cheerful atmosphere prevailed. Altogether an outstanding home, with excellent food, beautiful grounds and wonderful staff. Thank you all.
Oaktree Court is a care home that provides excellent care in a lovely setting. My aunt has been a resident in the dementia suite for almost a year and she has settled in brilliantly. It is a very difficult experience to place a loved one in a dementia care setting where liberty has to be restricted - however many times you tell yourself that you are doing the right thing it is still very upsetting. The experience was made far easier for me by the support from all of the staff at Oaktree and by the fact that I quickly realised that my aunt was in safe and caring hands. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff that I have come into contact with - unfailingly cheerful, kind and patient when looking after my aunt and always happy to give me feedback and updates. Levels of communication are always good with email updates and phone calls if necessary. The fact that Oaktree Court is set in beautiful grounds is just an added bonus!
Our Dad stayed at Oaktree Court for ten days before passing away after a long illness, he was cared for by the manager and her wonderful team who I can only describe as Angels. Dad was in a lovely room overlooking the beautiful and well maintained gardens and open countryside. Even though Dad was not really responsive due to his advanced stages of dementia he was still treated in the most caring and loving way. As well as looking after Dad we were also looked after and kept refreshed during our visits. we often noticed how the carers kept other residents occupied and amused with activities especially during the jubilee celebrations. Everyone we spoke to said how much they loved working there and had high regard for their manager. Before Dad came to Oaktree Court we looked at other options but we found this to be the best both in accommodation and in the lovely staff. Thank you to all for your time and dedication.
For the price charged you would expect a much higher standard of care and adequate staffing to address the needs of the residents. In the early weeks, I have found a number of the policies at the home to be inadequate and not always followed. It is not surprising that the home has only managed a CQC rating of good (17 February 2020) having previously been rated as requires improvement in 2019. I can only say that the home is fortunate that CQC has only carried out a paper review in July 2021 and has decided not to visit. I note the home is lucky not to be selected for inspection this year. The hotel facilities are acceptable and it is apparent that the nursing home relies on the 'window dressing' to cover its shortcomings in the standard of care they provide. In my opinion, it is probably fortunate for the home, that older people requiring such care are not always the ones wanting to complain.
This year my grandmother has resided in Oaktree Court nursing home. We especially chose this home as I have worked here as a nurse in the past, and I know that it is a lovely nursing home. As expected, my grandmother and family were apprehensive about the transition from home to a nursing home, but we didn't need to worry. My grandmother absolutely loves it here and is always singing her praises for the members of staff, wonderful food and activities that she can partake in. There was an issue (not with the nursing home) at the start of her move, but the management and nursing staff acted quickly and efficiently to involve the appropriate authorities to protect my grandmother. All of the family, including her very close friend, have been welcomed into the home and have been able to visit when we like, even with Covid restrictions in place. I would and have recommended Oaktree Court to anyone I know. Thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of her!
My mother has been living at Oaktree Court for three months now, and the care that she has received has exceeded all my expectations. I had looked after both my parents in their ageing years, my father until his death aged 90, and I had planned to keep my mumma at home with us too, until the end of her days. She was 101 in February, and although still physically very able, her increasing memory loss was giving me constant worry about her safety, so it was a hard and emotional decision to finally admit that she needed more care than I was able to give her. The whole experience of her moving to Oaktree Court has been an absolute joy. From the moment you walk into this lovely 'Country House', the warm welcome from the staff, the friendly, professionalism, the beautifully tended gardens, you instantly know that it is a lovely place to be. The care, attention, stimulation and love that she receives from her carers, is more than I could ever hope for.
Mum has been a resident for the past 6-months or so and passed peacefully away yesterday. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention she received during her stay, particularly towards the end; she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Oaktree Court is in a beautiful setting, and the rooms are bright and clean. Lots of activities are provided, COVID permitting, and the whole atmosphere is wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
