View Full Details of Park House Nursing HomeMy sister was admitted here after a long stay in hospital. She was on oxygen and bed-bound. The care that my sister received was far below average. When she needed assistance it would take a staff member up to an hour for them to answer the bell. Unacceptable as my sister was unable to get out of her bed without the risk of falls. The food was very limited and of poor quality.
Mum has settled well into the home. The staff have got a good rapport with her, they have got to know her well and understand her needs. She enjoys and takes part in the activities, particularly those involving music and movement. Since entering the home she has been eating well and generally likes the food which is provided. The home also organises regular events for family members to join the residents for meals and activities.
My mum's last year was spent at Park House Nursing Home. She was a very dynamic energetic woman so the staff had their work cut out. They did an amazing job keeping her active with a wide range of activities in-house and trips out. The staff were sensitive to her ever-changing needs giving her hugs, cuddles and reassurance when she was confused and distressed. She was shown overwhelming love and affection during her stay. During the days of palliative care, the staff showed remarkable tenderness and kept my mum's dignity intact whilst supporting the family in these emotional times. Everyone on the staff is amazing. Thank you so much.
Despite a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly staff. This home couldn't meet the needs of my father. The spaces were too big and dated. Inappropriate furniture - low seating and corners with broken furniture. Despite seeing cleaners constantly working, perhaps not enough staff, many areas were not at their best. The furniture in the bedroom inappropriate for use, heavy pine and drawers could fall out. The toilet was broken and even though we reported it nothing changed. Dietary needs not adhered to and a lack of information sharing. The outside area had many hazards and was in need of care. Not enough for residents to do.
It’s dirty, tired, palliative care awful, records not kept up correctly filled in when asked why not. Person left soaked in urine, given medication when unable to swallow. Some staff not doing a proper job and rude. Room was disgusting, not a place to spend your last days. Expensive. Sent home with not enough medication in syringe driver, it was beeping as she arrived home. Needs shutting down.
My father had recently moved here, after a stay in hospital and required more nursing care. When we initially visited the home, we were welcomed warmly and shown around and were impressed with the care and attention that the staff gave their residents. We were offered a choice of rooms and then it was decorated prior to Dad's arrival. After a week there, Dad deteriorated and sadly passed away. I cannot praise all the staff at the care home highly enough. The compassion, care and empathy shown to both my dad and us as a family when we visited was excellent. In the most painful of circumstances, my dad was in a warm, safe, caring and peaceful environment. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this home.
My aunty was here for one and a half years before she died in August. The staff and management are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. They really care about the residents. The manager and staff are brilliant at their jobs and will do whatever they can to help residents and their families. Cannot fault any member of staff from cleaners, maintenance man, laundry and carers. Keep up the good work Park House.
My dad was here for end of life care, sadly he passed away on June 9th. I cannot complain about this place at all. The staff I met were excellent, very caring keeping my dad comfortable and clean. A really special thank you to the manager who made sure my dad's passing was dignified and respectful, also helping me with funeral arrangements. Well done to all of you, you were all amazing.
It wasn't until about six weeks ago we were seriously thinking of moving my mum due to completely worrying about her and everything about Park House, but I can honestly say it seems to be definitely on the turnaround for the better. A much happier better place for everyone. Thank goodness because it really wasn't.
Very helpful staff. Rooms are very clean. Get a very nice welcome. Los of things like pillows and cuddly teddy's.
No care home is perfect, but I must say over the last five months, I have witnessed some very positive changes which have brought staff, residents, and family's together. I am very pleased my mother is cared for at Park House.
Very poor place for anybody. No security and property goes missing. My mum came back with several items of hers missing. Staff are rude and generally a horrible place. Shut the place down as soon as possible.
A few of the staff need picking up but they do hard work. Would be nice to have a T.V in the lounge.
Dad moved into Park House Nursing Home in 2018 and in the space of a few months he looked 20 years younger. This week he celebrated his 97th birthday and I'm convinced that it's the care and attention he's received from all the staff involved in his care that has kept him with us. I know that he can be difficult at times but is always treated with respect. However, the rooms are in need of renovation and furniture replacement although corridors are being painted at the time of review.
Staff are always helpful. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive and nothing is too much trouble. Mum likes it here which is good. I am very relaxed, she is getting looked after.
Mum has taken a while to settle, but she seems to be doing better now. The staff are kind and patient with her. She thinks she's in hospital and calls them her nurses. My only concern is that some of her property has been lost or broken.
From the day my husband moved into Park House Nursing Home, he could not have been more settled, happy and expertly cared for. The staff go up and beyond to ensure his personal needs, involving increasing severe dementia and lack of mobility are dealt with professionally and caringly at all times. Staff are unfailingly supportive of both my husband and me and pride themselves on keeping me well informed at all times. My husband now enjoys a good quality of life and I can relax in the knowledge that he is safe and has a richer existence.
My grandmother is currently residing in the home. The staff are very caring and treat my grandmother with dignity and respect. The food is great and staff are very accommodating. Management are approachable and looking for ways to better care for all the residents. The home looks very clean.
My Mum passed away today, whilst my sister and I were with her at 02:30 at the Care Home. It has been a traumatic day but I was determined to post this review because I wanted to express my sincere thanks to all staff at Park House nursing home in Bulwell. A few points that I wanted to flag up as exceptional:- * Covid 19 risk awareness and mitigation of associated risks * Availability and approachability of staff * Protection of patient dignity * Staff genuinely care * Excellent security to ensure no unauthorised entry (or exit). Mum had been in hospital for the previous 3 months and was referred to a care home to live out her remaining days, as it was no longer safe for her at home. She was only 68 and the bone cancer was aggressive, my sister and I were so well looked after whenever we visited and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone. If any of the staff read this review, thank you for all of your support.
My 92-year-old mother is being very well cared for by kind, considerate staff. Communication has been as good as can be expected with Covid-19 restrictions. She has a good appetite and enjoys the meals. A structured day suits her well.
