View Full Details of Haunton Hall Nursing HomeThese people know what they are doing, which is what you need when your precious mum is there for end of life care. Such a traumatic time, but the staff always make you feel welcome and give you the confidence that your loved one is in good hands. So thank you Haunton Hall for helping us through this hard time and making the time you were in our lives the best they could be.
I've recently paid a 5-day visit to the UK to visit my mother. On one of the days, I found her to be very cold in a room with the door propped open, curtains undrawn against a draughty window, and a radiator not working. The member of staff I reported this to said that nothing could be done on a Sunday no one being available to effect a repair, and I felt dismissed like a naughty schoolboy, so I managed to temporarily repair the radiator myself. I drew the curtains and closed the door. At that point, a member of staff did appear. Mum wears a buzzer around her neck to call a member of staff for assistance. When asked why she didn't use it, she told me that the staff got cross if she called them. On the bright side the next day, the two managers of Haunton Hall came to me and took on board both of these issues regarding the cold room and buzzer use. After quite a discussion promised me there would be no recurrence of either. We will see.
Our first visit here to see our best friend. OK, the building looks 'elderly and in need of help at some time', but don't we all! However, we were made so welcome by all of the staff that we saw and they were all so kind, gentle and thoughtful to their clients and visitors and treated everyone with dignity. Much, much better than the previous places that our friend was moved to. Thank you all so much - we look forward to coming again (with our small dogs that our friend loves to bits).
